I snuck off to Memphis when I was 16 just to see MERLE you know what ? It was more than worth it. What can I say - Mama tried. Merle will always be one of the best.

Oh man, I agree...Clint Strong's playing is always so smart...I remember watching an instructional video by him several years ago, showing how he incorporates jazz licks into his country playing, and country licks into his jazz playing...he smokes at both!

This is the very best performance of this song that I have seen. Clint Strong's guitar solo is off-the-hook. He varied the solo over the years but this one smokes. Merle was a gem.

we sure love merle haggard. he married bonnie owens back in the day. oughta check out Bonnie, Buck and Buddy allen Owenses as well as Waylon Jennings (you'll get addicted 4sho) There's too many to name but check out bvmoutlawcountry on YouTube here. There's so much. I'm a little jealous because it's great to discover you like another genre of music than you knew before. Back at cha Johnny!
