i have this phone and just put treckbuddy on it but i cant figure out how to stop the screen from going dim after every few seconds and stay lit for the whole trip

You can get some free java gps aplications that only use GPS so you dont pay for data transfer. TrekBuddy is a good example.

was this test done with the wayfinder ONLINE (connecting to wayfinder server trough gprs/edge) or wayfinder PRE-LOADED?
I have heard that the online version is rather slow...

nice phone and nice car, judging by the purr of the engine.
can you tell me what brand/type the phone holder is you use in the car? it looks very smart, locking on to the air vents.
is it correct that the navigation is free in principal, but unly if you want it to work accurately, you date will be sent that will be charged by the mobile ohone company? (so no wayfinder fees to pay or anything?
