I thought that was a little harsh a statement to make, accounting for a very wide taste span and many walks of life. Then I heard Mahalia sing for a few seconds. The chills running all up and down my spine from that moment on have told me you were actually just dead-on right.

Wow, I've never paid her music any attention but I get it now!!! definately have goosebumps. They didn't have synchronizers and all those other ways of making people sound better back then so she can really sing.
